The following graphic shows string lengths of various historical and modern instruments between 54 centimeters (21.25")
and 82 centimeters (32.25"), for the purpose of comparing many of the different string lengths mentioned in
these pages. Please note that the ruler begins at 21" and that you must imaging the "zero" point to be 21" up the page from the
top of the graphic. It would be impractical to give a full length graphic. I scanned as much of a regular tape measure as would fit
on a letter-size scanner.
